SWIM ALBERTA REPORT
SCN has a masters committee
FINA no longer recognizes World Masters Games. Lax policies
regarding swimmer registration is a major reason.
Swim Alberta has been fighting against the City of Edmonton's bid to host the Pan Am Masters Games
City of Edmonton saw approximately $500,000 revenue from WMG 2005.
Discussions about the $1.00 fee increase every three
years. That will happen in the 2007-2008 season.
Coach registration and coach certification: masters coaches
will need to be registered to be covered for insurance. Discussion of
the police background check will continue with the ACC
All swim club executive members have director's liability
insurance. All clubs need to submit a complete list of their executives to Swim Alberta.

to take this to MSC

Voting by-law change: the club contact person needs to be
registered on mymsc.ca a soon as possible, end of November at
the latest as a vote will need to take place by email.

Michener Center was scheduled to close, but Marty Bruin, a
former Red Deer National swimmer, led an initiative to keep it
open. Governance is being moved from Michener Centre to the City of
